Violin Lineage
This page shows my violin lineage through my teacher Prof. Lynn Blakeslee. Notable are the famous composer/violinists Corelli, Tartini, and Viotti. Pierre Rode and Joseph Böhm created two of the most widely used and important pedagogical texts used in the violin world today. Ludwig van Beethoven wrote his last violin sonata (op. 96) for Rode. Böhm’s string quartet had a working relationship with Beethoven, premiering his 12th string quartet. Henri Vieuxtemps wrote some of the most difficult violin works in history. Jenö Hubay also taught Yehudi Menuhin. And in addition to Efrem Zimbalist, Leopold Auer taught among others, Nathan Milstein and Jascha Heifetz, two of the 20th century’s most acclaimed violin virtuosi.
